Sight Concern Worcestershire is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with sight loss across Worcestershire. Our vision is a world where blind and partially sighted people have the confidence to reach their full potential and the opportunity to play an active role in society. Our mission is to support blind and partially-sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Sight Loss Advisers and volunteers work across Worcestershire to make sure that no one has to face sight loss alone.
We work hard to match our volunteers to roles that suit their interests and skills. SocialEyes Volunteers support people with sight loss to re-engage with social and leisure activities that help them feel connected to their community. This could be through simply having a visit for a cup of tea and a chat, getting out of the house to visit their local shops or park or enabling them to take part in favourite hobbies such as walking or swimming. In addition we also have opportunities for volunteers in Administration, Support Group Helpers, the Malvern Talking Newspaper Team and helping at events.
We also provide advice for your family, friends and professionals so they are included and can support you in the best possible way too. We understand that coping with sight loss alone is very difficult but doing it with our expert support makes it achievable. If you are facing sight loss, know someone who is or if you would like to volunteer with us, then please get in touch with us on 01905 723 245.
