Gloucester City Community Police

About Us

We are the visible face of Gloucester Constabulary and we play an active role in the communities we serve. We do this by tacking the problems you identify and work with the community to find a solution.

There are 9 Local Policing Teams covering 55 communities: 2 each in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud and 1 in Tewkesbury, the Forest and the Cotswolds.

Our Local Policing Pledge to you:

Our local pledge to you is to supply you with your local community policing team contacts, dates of your next neighbourhood policing meetings, details of your local priorities and the work being carried out towards those priorities. Our commitment for Local Policing Team's (LPT) is to spend 80% of their time visibly working in your neighbourhood, tackling your priorities.

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of Gloucestershire Constabulary. It is also a national initiative supported by the Association of Chief Police Officers. Our focus is to have safer communities within Gloucestershire in conjunction with our partners and meet the Government's overall Citizen Focus agenda.

This involves the allocation of dedicated resources, intelligence led targeting of issues that matter most to the public and joint action by the police service, partner agencies and the public to address community problems.

Gloucestershire Constabulary has implemented a Neighbourhood Policing Action Plan in order to ensure that its approach to the on-going development of Neighbourhood Policing is undertaken in a meaningful and consistent way, which is focused on actions and local responsibilities.
